I hope you all had a lovely President’s weekend! I was lucky enough to spend my Monday off at the San Diego Safari Park (formerly the Wild Animal Park) with my boyfriend – he surprised me with a segway tour for Valentine’s Day! I absolutely love animals and the Safari Park is the coolest place to see wild animals in much more natural habitats; needless to say, I was stoked! Besides, I had never been on a segway before and I was dying to try one out. So we drove down to San Diego early Monday morning and made it to the appointed area of the park for our 11:30 tour, ready to get rollin’! (Get it? Rolling??) After an initial training session on the segways (I totally felt like Wall-E!), we were out in the park touring around seeing the animals of the Asian savannah and the African plains including rhinos, giraffes, a cheetah and even a few lions! Our tour guide also turned out to be a rather hysterical pop culture enthusiast who kept likening the animals to popular actors – the dominant male antelope was Brad Pitt and the weaker, smaller male was Justin Bieber. It was a super fun trip to the Safari Park and I can’t wait to go back again soon and see more amazing animals! This look so fun! I am jealous! There is a segway shop by my house here in Utah and I am always a little bit morbidly fascinated by it.
