Okay, okay, I know, more new stuff? But I’ve been good, I promise! As part of my resolution, I decided I wanted to be more conscious of where and how I am spending my money, which to me means not just spending less money, but making sure the money I do spend goes towards purchases I really want and will really utilize.
So, I took stock of my wardrobe and decided that I want more skirts/dresses and that I want pieces that are different from all the same old stuff I already have. So far, I have done really well, only buying some great new jewelry and two dresses – all on sale! – one dress I’ve already worn and one I plan on wearing for Valentine’s Day (spoiler alert haha!). This past weekend, while most of the country was at home watching the Super Bowl, my mom and I went shopping (as my mom says, we really need a new hobby) and I found two great new pieces!
First up, I found this really great chambray shirt dress at Old Navy, which I got for only $20 after my $10 off coupon. I love getting good deals, especially when I find really well-made pieces that fit really well and I that I know I will wear again and again, like this shirt dress. I have been looking for a new chambray piece to add to my wardrobe and as soon as I tried on this dress I fell in love with the comfortable, flattering fit and the vintage feel of the light-wash denim material.
The second exceptional item I found is this beautiful braided chain necklace from Forever 21, which I got for just under $9 (although I didn’t pay any of my own money since I used a gift card from Christmas – thanks Nikkole & Philip!). I have been wanting to add more colorful and fun accessories to my collection and when I saw this gold and mint beauty, I just couldn’t resist! I know it’s a little bit of a departure from what I usually wear, but that’s the point of fashion, to experiment and really find your personal style. I can’t wait to put this together with a great outfit!

i like both new pieces! you can definitely do a lot with the chambray dress. a different belt, loud jewelry, pins, etc etc. Great choices!
