Hello, friends, Happy President’s Day… or is it Happy Birthday, Washington?? Either way, it’s an excuse for a day off and I’ll take it! I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve had a proper Monday a la Mode post, so here is today’s outfit, a mix of trends!
I am wearing a bright neon yellow/green sweater (American Eagle) over a black camisole and dark super skinny jeans (Old Navy). I paired this outfit with my leopard print smoking slipper flats (Payless) and a vintage black leather satchel bag (Kirkland). Because of the loud color of the sweater and pop of pattern in the flats, I kept my accessories simple, opting for black stud earrings (Forever 21) and my black elephant pendant necklace (H&M).
I love trying new trends and finding a way to make something that I wouldn’t normally wear work for me. When bright neon colors first started popping up, I thought no way will I be able to pull off neon, but then I found this really pretty (and soft and comfortable) sweater and thought I might be able to make it work. The trick for me is to keep the rest of the outfit muted so that it isn’t overpowered and simply allow the sweater to be the statement piece. (It looks a little washed out in the photos, but trust me, this thing is highlighter bright!)
